Álex Orma is a Spanish film director born 1989 in Burgos. At first he studied Audio-visual Communication at the University of Navarra afterwards, passionate about film, he went to study Film Direction at the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Belgium.

This experience gave him the tools to develop a personal and unique universe: a raw look into tales where violence, absurdity, beauty and instinct are drawn together in a perfect cocktail.

Martinica is his first short film. In it he evokes a landscape inspired by the memories of his land, legends and references to the genre movies that marked him during his childhood.

He complements his work as director with production design. He has worked on several short films, commercials and music videos as production designer or assistant production designer.
